Repairs, Remodels & Upkeep for High Country Homes — Built to Last, Built for Life

I'm Martin Toth — a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist with a construction background, serving the NC High Country from Todd, NC. I handle handyman work, home maintenance, aging-in-place remodeling, and property caretaking, with 20+ years of construction experience behind every job — one local professional, one relationship, one phone call.

What I do: Handyman work and repairs. Home maintenance and seasonal services. Aging-in-place remodeling and modifications. Property watch and caretaking.

Who I serve: Homeowners, second-home and rental owners, and families across Watauga, Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Mitchell, and Wilkes counties — including seasonal and out-of-area owners who need a local pro on the ground.

How it works: One local professional, one point of contact. For work outside my scope — electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, and permit-required exterior modifications — I coordinate with or refer to appropriately licensed contractors. Start with a free consultation.

A Local Professional Who Already Knows This Community

Martin Toth has lived in Todd, NC for over ten years. An avid hiker, backpacker, and gardener with deep roots in the High Country — including rebuilding after Hurricane Helene in 2024 alongside his neighbors.

The idea for HCSS came from his front porch. When a neighbor lost her husband and found herself without a support network, she showed up at Martin's door. He helped her navigate what came next. She became his first client.

He spent over a decade building programs across 16 NC counties — coordinating, advocating, and showing up consistently for people who needed support. I live here. I work here. I'm not going anywhere.

Reviews

"Martin spent hours pulling up invasive ornamental grass that was crowding my front yard, then put down fresh soil, planted what I chose, and mulched. He's very knowledgeable about plants and where to plant them. Easy to work with — he listened to what I wanted and we worked out a plan together. I'd recommend him for his knowledge, skills, and friendly nature."
